Advisory : Travel and Visa restrictions related to COVID-19
In suppression of all earlier advisories issued on this subject the following visa restrictions are issued for implementation.
All existing visas issued to nationals of any country except those issued to Diplomats, Officials, UN/International organizations, Employment, Project visas stand suspended till April 15, 2020. This will come into effect from 1200 GMT on March 13, 2020 at the port of departure of any foreigner for onward journey to India.
Visas of all foreigners already in India remain valid. They may contact the nearest FRRO/FRO through e-FRRO module for extension/conversion of their visa or grant of any consular service if they choose to do so.
Visa free travel facility granted to OCI card holders shall be kept in abeyance till April 15, 2020. This will come into effect from 1200 GMT on March 13, 2020 at the port of departure of any foreigner for onward journey to India.
Any foreign national who intends to travel to India for compelling reasons may contact the nearest Indian Mission for fresh visa.
All incoming travelers, including Indian nationals arriving from any destination and having visited China, Italy, Iran, Republic of Korea, France, Spain and Germany on or after February 15, 2020 shall be quarantined for a minimum period of 14 days. This will come into effect from 1200 GMT on March 13, 2020 at the port of departure of such travelers.
International traffic through land borders will be restricted to designated Immigration Checkposts with robust medical screening facilities. These will be notified separately by Ministry of Home Affairs.
In addition to the above visa restrictions the following travel advisory is hereby issued in accordance with instructions of the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare -
Indian nationals presently abroad are advised to avoid non-essential travel. They are hereby informed that they can be quarantined for a minimum period of 14 days on their arrival in India.
All Indian nationals are strongly advised to avoid all non-essential travel abroad. On their return they can be subjected to quarantine for a minimum period of 14 days.
The following nationals DO NOT require a visa for India: India Bhutan, Nepal & Maldives.
This visa is typically applied for if you are not eligible for an electronic visa either because of your nationality or the port of entry.
Our charge for the physical Indian visa includes checking your Indian visa documents, booking your appointment at the Indian visa application centre, attending your appointment at the Indian visa application centre on your behalf to submit your visa application documents to the embassy as well as to collect the passport from the embassy once your Indian visa is released. Our fees are inclusive of VAT but does not include your chosen method of return postage.
The embassy uses the VFS application centre to oversee all of their visa submissions and collections. An appointment is required before any document can be submitted. We book and attend the appointment for you, so you are not required to attend.
Compulsory vaccinations: Yellow fever certificate if arriving within 6 days from an infected area or have been in transit in an infected area (except those who while in transit through an airport in an infected area, remained within the airport during the period of their entire stay) or has come on a ship that started or disembarked at any port in an infected area up to 30 days before arrival in India (unless it has been disinsected) or has come on an aircraft which has been in an infected area and has not been disinsected. Infants under 6 months are exempt. When a case of yellow fever is reported from any country, that country is regarded as infected.
Recommended immunisations: Cholera, Diphtheria, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Japanese B Encephalitis, Malaria, Meningitis, Polio, TB, Tetanus & Typhoid.
Risks: Malaria exists all year below 2,000 metres except in parts of Himachal Pradesh, Jammu, Kashmir and Sikkim. Rabies.
