Nationals from (Arab countries) are advised to contact the Consulate General before applying for the visa in order to confirm the required documentation.

For holders of travel documents and nationals from the following countries, visa APPROVAL MUST BE SOUGHT from the competent Authorities in Egypt & we will not be able to assist: Iran, Tunisia, Somalia, Morocco, Algeria, Lebanon, Iraq, Palestine, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Sudan (non residents in the UK), Djibouti, Mauritania, Comoros, Burundi, Rwanda, Liberia, Nigeria, Ghana, Sierra Leone, Mali, Niger, Chad, Israel, Afghanistan, Kosovo, Moldova, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Indonesia, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Myanmar.

Nationals from UK , EU and USA travelling to Sharm El Sheikh, Dahab, Nuweiba and Taba resorts ONLY, for a maximum of 15 DAYS, do not require a visa prior to travelling as a free entry permission stamp will be granted upon arrival. If they intend to travel outside of the above mentioned areas they MUST obtain a Visa.

Malaysian nationals can stay in Egypt for up to two weeks without a visa. If their stay exceeds two weeks, the usual requirements apply

Citizens of the following countries can obtain a visa upon arrival at any of the Egyptian ports of entry: Australia, Canada, Croatia, EU, Georgia, Japan, New Zealand, Norway, Macedonia, Republic of Korea, Russian Federation, Serbia, UK, Ukraine and USA

Transit Visa Application

Transit visas are required by all continuing their journey to a third country within 12 hours without leaving the airport, provided holding confirmed tickets

Health Notice

Compulsory vaccinations: Yellow fever certificate if arriving from infected areas. All infants under 1 year are exempt. Air passengers in transit coming from countries or areas without a certificate will be detained in the precincts of the airport until they resume their journey.

Recommended immunisations: Diphtheria, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Malaria, Polio, TB, Tetanus & Typhoid.

Risks: Malaria- very limited risk exists from Jun-Oct in El Faiyum area (no reported cases since 1998). Rabies.

Weather Information

Apart from along the Mediterranean coast Egypt's climate is nearly entirely desert. The winter period (Nov-Mar) on the Mediterranean coast can be variable although it is usually sunny. Summers are hot but temperatures are tempered by strong sea breezes. In the south summer temperatures can be intense, however, the low humidity makes the heat more bearable and winters are dry and sunny.
